Microsoft to ditch Nokia brand in favour of ‘Microsoft Lumia’

Microsoft Lumia

In the next few months, we’ll start seeing more of Mircosoft and less of Nokia…yep that’s right, Microsoft are going to ditch their ‘Nokia Lumia’ brand in favour of their own ‘Microsoft Lumia’ (imaginitive, huh?)

In a blog post on the Nokia website, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Phones at Microsoft, Tuula Rytilä said, ‘This is a very exciting time for us and for Lumia products.’  This transition between names aims to make Lumia part of the family of Microsoft products such as Surface, Xbox, and Windows.Microsoft will however continue to sell their entry-level smartphones under the Nokia Lumia tagline (phones like the Nokia 130).

Personally, I think Microsoft  should steer clear of Microsoft Lumia and head towards something less boring/unimaginative, something like MS Lumia instead.
